Nutmeg Ginger Apple Snaps (Druckversion)

# Zutaten:

→ Dry Ingredients

01 - 4 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, plus more for topping
03 - 2 teaspoons ground ginger
04 - 1 teaspoon grated nutmeg
05 - 1 pinch ground cloves
06 - 1 pinch salt

→ Wet Ingredients

07 - 2 cups butter, softened
08 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
09 - 6 tablespoons brown sugar
10 - 2 tablespoons molasses
11 - 1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger root
12 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
13 - 2 eggs

→ Topping

14 - 4 gala apples
15 - Coarse sugar for sprinkling
16 - Cake sparkles (optional)

# Anleitung:

01 - Preheat oven to 325°F. Line baking sheet with parchment. Sift together dry ingredients.
02 - Cream butter, add sugars, molasses, and fresh ginger until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add flour mixture in thirds.
03 - Roll 2-3 tablespoons dough into balls, flatten to 1/4 inch on baking sheet.
04 - Press thin apple slices into center of each cookie. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
05 - Bake 20 minutes until edges are golden. Sprinkle with additional sugar and sparkles if desired.
